We Make Miracles Happen
The annual Tryst/XS Toy drive for 2009 was an unbelievable success. The employees of sister venues joined together at the beginning of 2009 on a mission to raise as much money possible for the Toys for Tots toy drive that takes place every year for Christmas. Being an employee of Tryst myself it was an incredible experience, one on which words can hardly do justice. The comraderie of people in order to complete a goal of such unselfish nature is remarkable. The “Tryst/XS team” managed to raise over $60,000.00 to spend on the toy drive, guaranteeing countless children having a present to open on Christmas morning.
The Tryst and XS staff members all met Wednesday, December 9th at 10am at the Walmart located in Las Vegas, NV. on Charleston and Decatur. Dressed from head to toe in Toy Drive attire the group began filling cart after cart full to the top of children’s toys. Once the cart had reached its max it was put in line in order to go through the register while new carts were being filled. Every toy imaginable was taken off the shelves from Tickle Me Elmos, moving T-Rex dinosaurs, Barbies, Gator Golf, stuffed animals, to soccer balls. There was no limit to the price on the toy or what could be included as long as the items were children’s toys.
Once the price limit had been reached an entire semi was filled with the toys as well as a helicopter and numerous employee vehicles all decorated in Toy Drive stickers. There was even a dog as a mascot for the event sporting a Tryst/XS Toy Drive bandana.
Semi, Helicopter, and staff members all caravaned in order to drop the toys off being led by none other than the Las Vegas metropolitan police department ensuring the safe delivery.
The annual Tryst/XS Toy Drive is one that makes a huge difference throughout the Las Vegas community. Many children that would have been otherwise not able to have a Christmas morning to look forward to will now be able to smile and continue believeing in Santa Clause. We Make Miracles Happen.
